Mixed-use scheme could close Ministry of Sound

Tue 30 August 2011, 12:17 pm

Property firm Oakmayne has applied to build a development of homes and shops opposite the Ministry of Sound nightclub in Elephant & Castle.

If the council gives the go-ahead, it could spell the end of the famous club, which would probably have its license revoked due to noise issues.

Oakmayne has offered to pay for soundproofing, but the club turned the offer down because it would involve the closure of the club for nine months.
