Planners call for London Bridge scheme revisions

Planners at Southwark Council have asked Network Rail to include more space for cultural uses in the proposed rebuilding of London Bridge Station.

Officials have written to the train company saying: “In order for the scheme to be acceptable, the quantum of cultural use floorspace should be increased, ideally to a size that can accommodate the Southwark Playhouse and the Britain at War Museum.”

A spokesman for the council said that it was still waiting for a response from Network Rail.
