Homes set for Elephant and Castle centre

The owner of the Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre has said that it could built up to 1,000 new homes above the iconic building.

St Modwen is working on plans to refurbish and extend the complex, and has confirmed that residential development could be incorporated.

Southwark Council has signed a cooperation agreement with the developer on the proposals.
