Southwark Council has approved plans to turn a former warehouse into a 60-bedroom hotel.

Councillors gave the go-ahead to the plans to demolish the Empire Warehouse in Bear Gardens and replace it with an eight-storey facility.

The 'apart-hotel' has been scaled down from an original proposal to build a 127-room hotel.
