Southwark Council has launched a consultation on its CIL proposals, with a view to publishing a draft charging schedule in December.
It is holding a series of events throught September and October to highlight its plans for creating a four-zone community infracture levy in the borough.
The authority said it would also ask for new ideas for infrastructure projects so that a "meaningful proportion" of funding raised through a future CIL benefitted residents affected by future developments.
More details on the proposals and the roadshow events are available at www.southwark.gov.uk.
"We've already surpassed one degree of global warming," said Kristen Buida, manager of the London Climate Change Partnership.
