Construction of a prestige student accommodation block in Bankside is due to be completed by the end of 2014, developer Carlyle Group has confirmed.
The asset manager said this week that contractor Elliott Thomas had been appointed to construct the Pure Student Living development in Ewer Street, following the securing of some £125 million in bank financing for the project and two other developments.
Carlyle Group managing director Mark Harris said the finance agreements had paved the way for the contractors’ appointments.
“Over the next two years we will bring online three state of the art and well located student accommodation facilities which will deliver more than 1,400 much needed new beds into the London market,” he said.
The other two developments are at the site of the former Hammersmith Palais in West London and in Goswell Road, Islington.
Pure Student Living is a joint venture between Carlyle Group and Generation Estates.
