South Bank office space 'set to double'

Wed 7 November 2012, 5:49 pm

The amount of office space available in London's South Bank is set to almost double during the next quarter as some 595,000sq ft of new space becomes available at the Shard.

The latest report from real-estate advisor Farebrother said the office market was currently underpinned by refurbished and second-hand property, website CoStar reported.

It quoted Farebrother head of leasing Julian Hind saying media companies had taken one-quarter of all South Bank space during the past 12 months and that office-space take-up “would continue to accelerate”.
