Construction firms in Southwark are being given the chance to work on Lend Lease's £1.5 billion Elephant and Castle regeneration project.
On 17 October, these businesses are being invited by Constructionline – the government's database of contractors – to the Imperial War Museum, in order to find out about job opportunities at the site.
Lend Lease is looking for contractors to support the fifteen year project, which will see the building of 2,000 new homes, shops, restaurants, parks and community space.
Amanda Reynolds, Business Development Manager from Constructionline, said: "It can be challenging for local construction companies to get involved in larger projects.
"For this reason, it is great to see Lend Lease sourcing local subcontractors, suppliers and trades people on such a high profile scheme and supporting the local economy.
"Hosting events like this which bring local suppliers together with clients is at the heart of what we do – we want to help them find and secure work and also make it easier for businesses to find reliable and local construction companies."
The event will run from 9am – 1 pm. To attend visit http://www.constructionline.co.uk/events.
