Roundabout redesign gets public backing

Plans to redesign Elephant and Castle’s north roundabout are to go-ahead after a public consultation, carried out by the council, found that 80% of residents, business and local stakeholders in Southwark back the plans.

More than 2,000 participants took part in the consultation over plans to alter the road layout to benefit pedestrians, cyclists and bus passengers

The plans form part of the wider £4 billion investment Transport for London is making in improving roads across London over the next decade and will support Southwark Council's regeneration of the wider area.
