Derwent London has been granted planning permission from Southwark Council for a hotel and office scheme on the Southbank.
The redevelopment of Wedge House on Blackfriars House includes a 15-storey, 6,335sq m hotel that will be operated by The Hoxton and 3,885sq m of offices. The hotel will feature 192 rooms, a ground floor cafe and restaurant, mezzanine, conference space and a rooftop bar and restaurant.
The scheme was designed by architects Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands and is scheduled for completion in 2018.
Nigel George, director of Derwent London, said the scheme will “significantly enhance the area, add to the local amenities, and provide interesting spaces for hotel guests and office workers alike”.
