An annual national cycling competition will return to Peckham in June.

Ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Burgess Park will host rounds seven and eight of the 2016 British Cycling BMX Series between 25 and 26 June.

The racing will start at midday on Saturday and 10.30am on Sunday and is scheduled to finish by 6pm both days.

Peckham BMX club founder, Michael Pusey (also known as CK Flash), said: "With the Olympic Games so close and the prospect of one of our very own Peckham BMX Riders racing for team Great Britain, its great to welcome back the national series to Southwark.

"Peckham BMX will be once again bringing its top riders to show just why we are one of the best clubs in England, and we’ll see who else has the skills to tackle what I think is one of the hardest but best tracks in the UK.”
