Southwark followed in the footsteps of cities like Tokyo, Singapore and Oslo, as artists from the worldwide Musicity movement have recorded music inspired by its most iconic buildings.

First rolled out for the three cities, Musicity turned its attention to London, and specifically, Southwark, which is home to various prominent buildings.

The seven songs, recorded by seven artists, celebrate the architecture best-known throughout the borough: The artists dedicated their songs to the following buildings:

  1. Moses Boyd - Canada Water Bus Station, Canada Water
  2. Stick in the Wheel - The Finnish Church
  3. Sean O'Hagan - Peckham Library
  4. Throwing Shade - Borough Market
  5. William Doyle - The Shard
  6. patten - Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre
  7. Hejira - Time and Talents, Rotherhithe and Bermondsey

All the tunes can be streamed via smartphone at each location; alternatively, go to to collect each track.
