Movie, sports and music fans enjoyed a summer of entertainment at Elephant Park, as it hosted a programme of free screenings, events and activities.
Films included blockbusters such as Black Panther, Ready Player One, Avengers Endgame, The Greatest Showman, and Tim Burton’s live-action movie Dumbo. Modern classics including Grease, The Italian Job and Sister Act were also shown at the screenings on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights in August and early September.
Pop-up food and drinks stalls were available on movie nights, providing audiences with entertainment and refreshments.
Other highlights included popular sporting events including the Ashes cricket and US Open tennis, as well as live broadcasts from the Leeds and Reading music festivals. Every morning there were cartoons and programmes for young people broadcast on the big screen including Tee and Mo and The Teletubbies.
Kristy Lansdown, project director for Elephant Park at Lendlease Europe, described the “beautiful park” as an “ideal venue for outdoor entertainment”.
